Porsche Cayenne EV Secretly Destroys A Record

Without any formal announcements, Porsche brought the upcoming Cayenne EV to the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb in the UK, and it absolutely destoryed the competition.

Porsche brought the upcoming electric Cayenne to the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb to show off just how well the development of the forthcoming EV Cayenne is coming along. The car was driven by Gabriel Jilkova, who happens to be a development driver at Porsche’s Formula E program.

The Cyaenne hustled up the hill in utter silence and was able to complete the 1,000-yard (914-meter) track in just 31.28 seconds.

That time is four seconds faster than the previous fastest SUV, the Bentayga W12, and shockingly even quicker than the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, which finished in 31.43 and was previously the fastest electric car to complete the climb.

Beating the Bentayga is impressive on its own, but beating the Taycan Turbo S proves that Porsche has learned a lot with EV development and that the upcoming Cayenne EV is going to be a monster of a motorcar.

It’s a question, however, why Porsche kept this such a secret with no formal announcements or celebrations.
