Porsche Design Edition 2 (Boxster S)
Porsche Design Edition 3 (Cayenne GTS)
The Porsche Design Edition series is a 3 part series that features a Cayman S, Boxster S, and Cayenne GTS with special design treatment from Porsche Design. Each Edition is a limited run series with unique styling cues, performance upgrades, and is a celebration of Porsche’s design house.
Each unit comes with a plaque that denotes what number the unit is in the individual series and also comes with special gifts such as a matching luggage set, pens, and a watch.
Porsche Design Edition 1 - Cayman S
Porsche Design Edition 1
The Porsche Design Edition 1 is a special edition based on the 2008 Porsche Cayman S, which produces 295 horsepower. The special edition mid-engine coupe is finished in black paint. It serves as a nod to Porsche Design, as well as the famous Chronograph 1s, designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche 35 years prior to the car's debut.
The exterior is finished in black and features three matte stripes that run the length of the car from the bonnet to the rear, as well as along the doors. The stripes add striking visual contrast and feature the “PORSCHE DESIGN” script logo to denote the car’s special edition status.
The look was designed by Porsche Design and adds additional luxury options to the Cayman S. The car is finished in black leather with Alcantara upholstery that complements the instrument dials, which feature a layout that reflects that of all Porsche Design chronographs. The center console, dashboard, and door-trims are finished in a glistening black for trim while the three-spoke sports steering wheel, gear lever, handbrake, and roof lining are finished in non-slip black Alcantara.
The Porsche Design Edition 1 also received technical improvements, including a ten-millimeter reduction in body height, standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and a special Sport mode activated with the touch of a button. The Cayman S also features five-millimeter spacers and 19” turbo wheels to create an imposing presence.
Only 777 units were made and numbered with a plaque above the glovebox to denote the individual number.

Porsche Design Edition 2 - Boxster S
Porsche Design Edition 2
The Porsche Design Edition 2 is based on the 2008 Boxster S and follows the same formula as the Edition 1, but shifts its focus to prioritize fashion over sport.
The Boxster S is finished in Carrera white that extends past the body to the 19” Sport Design wheels, side intakes, center console, and the dials to create a monotone look before monotone was even in fashion. The Porsche Design Edition 2 also features the same 3 stripes on the bonnet to the rear, except now in grey. The same “PORSCHE DESIGN” script logo is also present and matches exactly the Edition 1 Cayman S.
The Edition 2 features the same mid-mounted 3.4-litre flat six that makes 303 horsepower, which for the first time brought the Boxster line above the 300bhp mark.
The interior features a three-spoke sports steering wheel and handbrake wrapped in Alcantara, while the gauge clusters, sport chrono clock, and center console trim are accented with the body's Carrera white paint.
This time, only 500 units were produced and numbered, with a plaque above the glove box to denote the individual number.

The final edition in the series is the Porsche Design Edition 3, based on the Cayenne GTS and the only SUV in the special edition lineup.
The PD3 is finished in a striking Lava Grey Metallic paint and features the same 3 racing stripes in matte black with the “PORSCHE DESIGN” script logo that runs the length of the bonnet. However, unlike the PD1 and PD2, the PD3 stripes do not extend to the rear, and the side only features one strip.
The PD3 also features color-matched 21” wheels, blacked-out bi-xenon headlights, and tinted windows to create a menacing look.
Inside, the dark theme continues with black leather seats featuring the Porsche logo in the headrests, Alcantara inserts, and red stitching that matches the “S” on the rear. The dashboard also features the same red stitching as well as carbon-fibre elements for the trim.
The engine is a 4.8-litre V8 that produces 405bhp (An astonishing number for a motorcar, let alone a SUV for the time) and is paired with Porsche’s six-speed tiptronic automatic transmission and Sport Exhaust.
Only 1,000 units were made and numbered with a plaque above the glovebox to denote the individual number.
